Just off the front steps begins the RiverWalk, a paved pathway that follows the Muskegon River through Big Rapids. Fishing, tennis courts, and softball fields can all be found along the RiverWalk.

Tube down the River! The Sawmill offers tube, canoe and kayak rentals. Bike your heart out on the Rails to Trails (White Pine Trail). Old train tracks that cross the state now are beautiful bike paths in the summer, and snowmobile paths or cross country skii trails in the winter. We are only 1/4 mile from the trail!

Downtown Fall Festival
Mark your calendars for a wonderful community Fall Festival on Friday, October 28th and Saturday, October 29th. Friday evening will feature a Chili Cook Off between some of the best restaurants and caterers in the area, including Szot's, Schuberg's, The Gate, Blue Cow Cafe, The Wild Rose Cafe, Bob Evans, Crankers Coney Island, CK's Catering, Legend's Ranch, Pere Marquette Catering, and Ferris State University Catering. Come between 5pm and 7pm to cast your vote!

Saturday will start with a children and pet costume parade at 10:30am (lineup begins at the Cinema parking lot) followed by a pumpkin rolling contest, kids games, bounce houses, climbing wall, Trunk or Treat, giant pumpkin carving, and lots more!
